Message from the Superintendent

Dr. Nancy J. McGinley, SuperintendentIn the Charleston County School District, we don’t just enroll children – we enroll families. Our district offers families a wide-ranging portfolio of school options to match the diverse needs and interests of our 43,000-plus students. Our district has something for everybody – there are over 75 schools, including those with single-gender, Montessori, Magnet (countywide and neighborhood-level), arts-infused, military, International Baccalaureate, accelerated academics, and career academy programs and themes.

With so many great options, finding the right school requires either a good deal of personal research, connections with family or friends who are “in the know,” or the assistance of a knowledgeable real estate professional, the Chamber of Commerce and/or your local school officials. Thank you for your interest, and I hope to see you in our schools soon.
