Diversity Initiative
What is CCSD's Diversity Initiative?
The Charleston County School District (CCSD) embraces a broad understanding of
diversity that is defined as the recognition and respect for the differences and
similarities that exist in individuals along a variety of dimensions, including,
but not limited to race, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation,
socioeconomic status, age, physical abilities, religious affiliation and
national origin.
The CCSD Diversity Council promotes diversity within the CCSD and fosters an environment that elevates the achievement of all students through diversity awareness education and organizational change.
